The 1880 Census Lists at Tapon Street St Louis, John Bolstridge, a millwright,  his wife Jane and their three daughters. The eldest daughter born 1868 in England, the next 1873 in New York and the youngest 1879 in St. Louis. This indicates that they emigrated about 1871. The GRO indices reveal they were from the Darlington Area of Northern England where a marriage and two birth entries can be found. It is likely that a John Boldstridge registered at Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1847 are one and the same. The marriage certificate for this couple may reveal some extra detail.

I have yet to find this family in the 1900 census but the IGI has a submitted entry for a William Bolstridge born about 1882 in Missouri who died in 1914 who could be related.
