There is currently a controlled extraction in progress of the GRO, (St. Catherine's House), indices in chronological order from 1837. The database will be uploaded periodically in ten year intervals. Before using the database you must register to obtain a password it only takes a few minutes and the password will be delivered by email automatically. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but some rip-off  genealogy web sites were linking directly to this data and charging for the privilege.

IE 6 users, to view the database privacy should be set low security or ecriteria.net added as trusted site. The user is advised to re-check the indices prior to ordering certificates as some fiches were difficult to read.
